The Director, Sir H. A. Lekwuwa in high spirit for the day's occasion |
t was funfair galore when Feed My Lamb Foundation hosted her members and
non-members at a get-together party. Saturday,
12th December, 2015 will remain indelible in the hearts of the widows,
physically-challenged, the less privileged and the community people gathered as
they had a frenzy thrill amidst a feel of the ambience of the colourfully
decorated hall of the Foundation.
There were enough to eat and drink and raw foods to take home. Also new cloths were distributed to members
and non-members alike to enable them enjoy the Christmas celebrations in new
dresses.
The highlight of the occasion was the cash empowerment given to the
people through lucky dip which saw three widows and two less privileged picked
the envelopes containing N20,000.00
(Twenty Thousand Naira only) each thereby achieving the objective of
encouraging them to embark on a small-scaled trading.
The Foundation Director, Sir H. A. Lekwuwa was on hand to hand over
the envelopes containing the empowerment cash to the lucky winners, amidst
jubilation and dancing.
It was the turn of the Foundation President, Lady G. A. Lekwuwa who went
down the memory lane to enumerate the achievements of the Foundation in the
out-going year as follows:
(a) She
commended the effort of the Foundation doctor, Dr. Patrick Anosike who
volunteered to examine and treat members on quarterly basis and May & Baker
who have been supplying the drugs free-of-charge. She prayed for God’s
blessings for them and their families.
(b) The
Foundation, through the help of one of our benefactors, continually distributed
food items such as packs of Indomie, Baby Cereals, raw rice, used clothes, etc
to deserving nursing mothers, the less privileged and children in the
neighbourhood.
(c) During the
year under reference, the Foundation was blessed with a sizeable hall through
the benevolence of one of our benefactors. She prayed God to continue to shower
him with abundant blessings.
(d) The
Foundation was blessed with some computer systems, sewing machines and
air-conditioners. She thanked God for blessing the Foundation with Lamb
Dr. Tonnie Ngbakwulu (Administrator/Secretary) who
voluntarily worked assiduously for 8 weeks to fix the entire computers thereby
setting the stage for computer training along side with the fashion design
session.
(e) Through the
help of MAARDEC Company, the Foundation procured four (4) wheel chairs for our
physically-challenged members (who also were present at the occasion with their
new chairs).
(f) She told
the gathering that website has been hoisted for the Foundation and encouraged all
and sundry to always log in and know the progress made so far. The website is: www.fmlfng.org. The office is connected 24/7 and
that willing members could send and receive messages via some social media such
as Facebook, Twitters, Instagram or the email: info@fmlfng.org.
(g) Finally,
she was optimistic that Foundation was at the verge of registering with World
Association of Non-Governmental Organisation (WANGO) to enable the Foundation
expand its frontiers and horizon.
(h) She
launched the Foundation 2016 Historic Calendar and gave credit to our
benefactors praying God to keep them to attain greater heights in life. She
also commended the Calendar Committee Chaired by Lamb Dr. Tonnie Ngbakwulu and
his team for a job well-done.
(i) She
announced that cash empowerment of widows and less privileged will now take
place bi-annually in line with the Foundation policy to empower at least 100 of
such people this year.
(j) She told
the gathering to pray always for a branch of the Foundation to be registered in
the Netherlands, the process of which was at its advanced stage.
(MY
BROTHERS AND SISTERS, PLEASE ENDEAVOUR TO PUT A SMILE IN THE FACES OF THE DOWN-TRODDEN
IN OUR SOCIETY TODAY;
“GOD LOVES
A CHEERFUL GIVER….”) Shalom! - President/CEO
